THE latest Oasis tour was thrown into chaos last night as Liam Gallagher stormed off stage and Noel screamed at fans: “I hope you all die of hypothermia!”Fans also seethed over a poor performance by Liam, 30, who struggled with lead vocals and ordered his mike be changed FOUR times.Noel, 35, cut his acoustic set to just TWO minutes because fans would not stay silent as he performed a new blues version of Wonderwall.Soon after the brothers and the rest of the band Andy Bell, Gem Archer and Alan White went on stage at the Brighton Centre, frontman Liam swore into the mike and shouted offstage to technicians.Even after equipment was replaced he continued his tantrum. The dad of two also had problems singing some of the words with his new front teeth ? after his original set were knocked out during a bar fight in Germany last week.Instead of singing the chorus to the band’s new hit Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Liam simply hissed “Ssssssss”.After Liam stormed off Noel attempted to perform an acoustic slot before ordering fans: “You have got to be quiet. If you don’t shut up I won’t play.”But as the guitarist strummed the opening chords of Wonderwall, eager fans joined him in singing and he threw the capo off his guitar.Fans joined in again when he tried again later and he shouted: “All you c**** who sang through Wonderwall, I hope you die of hypothermia.”The band were then booed offstage.
I gave up on Oasis after this gig. Nobody spoke to anybody else on stage all gig, obviously Noel and Liam didn't communicate but none of the other guys did either. If my memory serves me right ( and these days it often doesn't ) the gig made Q Magazine's top ten worst concerts of all time.
Definitely Maybe and What's The Story still stand the test of time but they are 15 years old !!
Noel will do well without Liam
